Ukrainian flag Українською

Gift Baskets Overseas is a US-based company created in 2007 to help people stay connected to friends, family, and colleagues all over the world through gifts.

To be perfectly clear:

We embrace peace, and we openly condemn the Russian military action in Ukraine.

Our brand helps people speak to each other. We do not speak for governments, and we would never support any acts of violence.

Our beautiful team is based all over the world, including in Ukraine and Russia. So to each and every one of you who has offered the help you can, a huge and heartfelt THANK YOU!

August 18, 2022 Updates for Humanitarian Aid to Ukraine

Thanks to our team and support from our customers, we have been able to:

  • Donate over $8000 to local vendors and volunteers to help deliver food and medicine to the hardest hit areas of Ukraine (with a focus on regions on the western border).
  • Donated $500 to the Synagogue in Ivano-Frankivsk city in Ukraine to help organize hot meals for internally displaced people.
  • $500 was sent to Dnipro to help start and organize a street kitchen for refugees.
  • $300 was sent to assist in humanitarian aid to Nikopol.
  • Help transition refugees to safety.

In addition, we have worked to keep delivery open in as many areas as possible. Thanks to volunteers and a creative team, we put together 3 different humanitarian relief kits for Ukraine, including a Full Pantry Gift Set, a Meal Kit, and other food staples.

Updates from Local Florists and Vendors in Ukraine

Below are updates we have gotten from the local community in Ukraine. We have removed their names to ensure their privacy.

  • The situation has been bearable in Dnipro during the past couple of weeks. I don’t remember if I told you, but my family returned to Dnipro from abroad, and like many other families, we are trying to keep living and working here. We have moved from downtown to the city outskirts, so it’s a little calmer here. We are trying to keep helping those in need, and have been working at the maximum capacity.

  • The situation in the region is not very good, I would even say it’s terrible. My wife’s parents live in Nikopol, and over the past month, there has been constant shelling going on around the nuclear power plant over the Kakhovka reservoir from the temporarily occupied Zaporozhye region (Energodar). The shell count has now reached 1100. The people over there are exhausted, frightened, but they keep living and working in the region. Many either do not have the opportunity to leave, or they are simply elderly (like our parents) and do not want to leave their own home... See the link below for some details with photos.

  • In 10 days I’m planning to travel there myself, despite the difficult situation in the area. We are planning to visit our parents and use the chance to deliver humanitarian food aid to people in need in the region (primarily the elderly and the disabled, who find it difficult to cope with this situation). I have already made a list of people who are in need, and I hope to collect enough funds to follow the plan by the time we go. If you’re willing and able to help us on a one-time basis with this trip and the distribution of food packages, we will be very grateful to you. We guarantee to provide you with the photo reports, as always. Thanks in advance to everyone in your team.
